Gah. I agree with you – Moms have enough to do without spending their time playing.

My Mom had an effective way of curing boredom — if we told her we were bored, she assigned us chores! We figured it out pretty quickly.

Oh I have felt this way many a time being a stay at home mom with our toddler. Goodness gracious. I tried keeping him busy with all kinds of fun stuff but I never got anything done other than achieving monster headaches. For me, I’d rather know that he can occupy himself for a period of time and learn on his own. We still do quite a few things together but I’m not a nazi about it.

What you say is kinda true, and you are so funny in how you express it.
Unfortunately it’s hard to convince the kids today that it isn’t “all about them”!

Hang in there, Christy. From this post, I gather you had a week similar to mine. In fact, I used a work I learned here in describing my week to my husband as “craptastic.” I think being a Mom is just exhausting and overwhelming sometimes. Okay, often.
